First please allow me to explain why you always read the word phrase horseracing today. That has actually to do with the Internet, as people are searching for certain key word phrases and I wish that my blog is being found on the Internet when somebody is searching for the key phrase horseracing today.

It is being 21 days ago that I last wrote about Horse Racing Today using the HiPro86 software.

Actually I have to fully blame myself that I did not follow the given rules by the developers. I did change the settings quite often, which is not at all recommended to do so. I did that, because I used higher stakes then my Betfairbank actually would allow me to do. I did not want to change my stake and instead I changed the “max odds” settings which resulted into less selections and I entered into the risk that more losers could show up that actually really happened.
I took the time to look into my Betfair account and I compared it with the provided selections I found in the HiPro86 Journal for Horse Racing Today. In fact many selections were not taken by the HiPro86 software which overall puts me into a loss situation. I need to say that the Master System would have performed quite well, if I had not changed my settings and had it used as it is recommended.
I will now change back my settings to the original settings, I gave out on August 25th. You can find it here on my blog.

The Horse Racing Today selection on Sept 25th was “Rockinghorsescience” in the race 3.55h in Market Rasen. The Runner came in second. Another great winner for us using the “Favourite Kill” System.

However, I still want to show the results I achieved until now, when started on August 25th.

Results achieved with Horse Racing Today

Master System

378 selections – 325 winning selections and 53 slosing selections. That is a strike rate of 85,98%. The average odds I got matched was 9.79 on Betfair. Overall a good result.

Favourite Kill System

283 selections – 225 winning selections and 58 losing selections. The strile rate is a respectible 79.51%. The average odds I got matched was 5.41 on Betfair. This is a great result. Longest Winning Streak stands at 21 wins in a row, which happened on 31st August and 01st September.

As you can see, the “Favourite Kill” System performed very well and brought in some nice profits until now in the month of September. The Master System did not perform, but that is due to my own faults having changed the original settings provided on August 25th.
I like this software very much, because it is really as out lined being a “set-and-forget” solution. I would take this month loss and start again showing you the results on Horse Racing Today by inserting my Betfair account details for your view. It may take some time to get back to my initial amount, but I have to say that I’m very confident that this will be achieved soon.

After a successful close for August 2010, September started not too good. On top of all this I decided to increase my stake, knowing that the first 6 trading days only used a few percent of my bank. So, from 0,33 EUR I decided to put my stake to 0,93 EUR. That is surely not recommended by the developers. However I decided to do so… and guess what?

Horse Racing Today had a major losing day on 02-Sep-2010. The Master System had 3 losses that day, but those were quite close together which caused the stakingplan4 not being able to recover the losses within the cycle. The first loss occured on 01-Sep already and after 2 successful bets the 3rd was a losing bet again. So, the spl4 went into stage 2 and it happened again. After another 2 successful bets the 3rd was a losing bet and the spl4 cycle is over leaving me wsith this major loss. But the Horse Racing Today was not over jet. Another 2 losses were to accepted and spl4 is in its stage 2 again.  The next 3 bets were successful…. the day was over and although ending with a heavy loss Hore Racing Today, I was quite sure to end the sequence with success. Well, needed to wait for the next day to arrive.

The next Horse Racing Today 03-Sep, the first selection of the day was “Peter’s Gift”. This selection was the 4th recovery selection…

Huhhh… what a race was that!!!

YES ! The final bet of that cycle went through and the previous loss was recovered.

Horse Racing Today to be continued….

A lot has happened when publishing the post Horse Racing Today on 25-08-2010.

Today is Month End and lets see what results were achieved on Horse Racing Today. First of all the good news… We made a nice profit.

Our Betfair Account shows an overall profit of +23,32 EUR. This is a plus of +9,34% on our initial bank.

When started on 25-08-2010 until today, 31-08-2010 we actually saw it all…. We had one scenario where the spl4 staking-plan lost the sequence and luckily the special rule kicked in to stop, if the 4th recovery bet is a losing bet. That happened on 27th Aug 2010.

Lets see what the past few days Horse Racing Today brought us:

26-08-2010 we had 7 winning bets

27-08-2010 we had 12 winning bets and 3 losing bets. 2 of the losing bets were in a row and we had a loss of 8.91 EUR, but also won 6,32 EUR. An overall loss for the Master System of -2.59 EUR on this day

28-08-2010 we were matched with 16 bets. 14 bets were winning bets and 2 were losing bets, but the spl4 staking-plan did a good job and we ended the day with a nice profit. +2,92 EUR. Its a pity that we lost on the last race of the day, so that the spl4 staking-plan kicked in again and will continue to place the lay bets in recovery mode tomorrow

29-08-2010 Horse Racing Today started with a losing bet and we face again a loss with the first selection of the day. The spl4 staking-plan went into the 2nd level and did a good job on the next 3 bets. But we got hit on the 4th bet and had to face the second loser of the day. 10 winning bets and 2 losing bets. Due to the losing bet being in level 2 the day ended in a loss of -12,40 EUR on the Master System

30-08-2010 we got 17 matched bets, out of which 3 losing bets we had to face. Again the spl4 stakingplan 4 had to go to level 2, but managed nicely. Horse Racing Today ended the Master System in profit with +2,84 EUR.

31-08-2010 a perfect Horse Racing Today with 9 winning bets.

So, what is the statistics on the Horse Racing Today for the few days we used the HiPro86 software bot in August 2010:

Winning bets: 82

Losing bets: 11

strike rate: 88,17%

profit/loss: +0,81 EUR or +0,33% on initial bank

longest winning streak: 13 wins in a row (happened 3 times)

longest losing streak: 2 losses in  a row (happened 3 times)

highest draw-down on the Master System: 19,50 EUR

profit on highest draw-down: +4,15%

Yes, the profit is low, but it is a profit. We achieved this profit with just 19,50 EUR being our maximum draw-down of our account. So, we only had to use 7.8% of account to run the software bot HiPro86. That again is real fantastic and we look forward to the next month of September 2010.

Tomorrow I present to you the results of the other 2 systems which are involved in the HiPro86 software. As you know we achieved a total profit of +23,32 EUR. That means that the Favourite Kill and Range Master performed tremendously on Horse Racing Today.

Since this is an introduction, let’s talk about the basics of horseracing itself. A horserace can consist of two or more horses. The field, as it is called, varies from race to race. There are three main finishing points in any horserace—Win, Place and Show. Win is of course first place. Second place is called Place and Show is third. These three spots are known as “in the money.” A horse that doesn’t finish in the money is referred to as “also ran.”

Horseracing offers a plethora of wagering options. For instance, one can wager on a horse to win, place and show—also called “across the board”—or any mixture of the three. There are also other wagers, which are called “exotics”. One example of an exotic wager is a Trifecta. A Trifecta wager consists of three horses that will finish in the exact listed order. For example, if a bettor placed a 5-8-1 Trifecta, the 5 horse must finish first, the 8 horse second and the 1 horse third.

Another example of an exotic wager in horseracing, and a popular one, is the Pick 4. Horseracing bettors play Pick 4’s constantly. When a bettor makes a pick 4 wager, he or she is picking the winner in four consecutive races. Winners of the Pick 4 are paid from a pool of wagered money. There’s also a Daily Double, Pick 3 and Pick 6. In the event that there’s no winner, the money is carried over to the next day. This happens often with the Pick 6.

One of the best things I like about horseracing is the quickness of the races. Unlike a baseball game, I don’t have to wait three hours to find out if I won or not. Additionally, unlike other sports, there can be up to hundreds of races on a single day. A typicalhorserace track will run eight races or more per day. There are many horserace tracks around the country. There’s a lot more to horseracing, but this introduction will start you on the right path.

We must first analyze the record of the former conditioner before we judge whether a trainer can improve his recently claimed horse, for instance, if high-percentage trainer claims a horse from a trainer with a poor winning percentage, we can assume the horse will improve in his new surroundings, and if a low-percentage trainer claims a horse from the track’s leading trainer, we can conclude the animal won’t improve – more than likely, he will regress.

Quite often, we are able to eliminate from consideration a betting underlay when the horse goes from a high- to a low-percentage barn. Indexes of a high recent speed horse for a leading trainer often has declining figures for a new outfit. This may result in betting overlay when a horse with dismal recent form for a low-percentage trainer hooks up with leading trainer in wins.

Always consider jockey and equipment changes – a horse claimed from a low percentage stable is likely to have a top rider for his new barn, and a leading jockey on a newly claimed horse would be a big improvement over his previous riders who might have a low win percentage.

For a successful analysis of a newly claimed horse, we must know as much about the new trainer as we do the horse. Remember, handicapping the horse and trainer separates the novice from the veteran.

As with most jargon the reality is far less complicated than most would have you believe and for some reason the seasoned pro often sneers at the beginner which does little to encourage the novice. So let’s explain some of these important factors.

The Going: this refers to the state of the ground that the horse will actually run on and is arguable the most important single factor. Picture yourself running on sand, tarmac and grass – you will clock a very different time over the same distance on each type of ground this is the same for horses. Equally, if you challenged a friend of similar fitness you are likely to find that you are better on, say grass, and your friend is quicker on the sand. This is very true of horses, some love ‘some cut in the ground’ – softer ground – and others love to ‘hear their hooves rattle’ – firm ground. It really is as simple as that, you then have to found out which horses prefer which ground and make sure they are on their favored surface before placing your bet.

The Draw: if you picture the starting stalls of a horse race, the draw is simply which stall they will come out of – this is NOT necessarily the same as their number on their side underneath their saddle. But what’s the big deal? On some racecourses whether you are drawn high or low can make an enormous difference to your stead’s chance. For example, Chester racecourse is very ‘tight track’ meaning the bends are very sharp – it is in fact like a circle – and therefore as you can guess it is generally favourable to be on the inside rather tan taking the long way round. Obviously, the longer the distance of the race the less this factor will matter which brings us neatly on to ‘the trip’.

The Trip: this is simply the actual distance of the race – in horseracing, like in athletics, there are many different distances for races and, like in athletics those better at long distances are rarely as good at sprinting. For example, the Grand National is 4 miles and a half miles and the shortest distance is just five furlongs. Ah, ‘furlongs’, what is a furlong? A furlong is exactly 1/8th of a mile, so four furlongs is half a mile. Why do they still use furlongs in horse racing? Who knows!

The Handicap: a lot of horse races are handicaps and this is, for once, exactly as you would expect it to be. The best horse in the race will be given more weight to carry than the worst. The theory being that this will level up the chances of every horse but inevitably because of all the other factors discussed above this rarely happens. Nobody said horse race betting was easy but at east hope fully you are now armed with some basics to kick off with. Good luck!

There are still plenty of die hard handicappers out there, but with gambling sites offering streaming audio/video, etc. the horse player can experience the excitement of the race and place bets with the on-line casino without leaving home. In fact there are literally billions of dollars still being waged on horse racing, but it is estimated that no more than 15% of those wagers are placed at the race track betting windows.

When bets are made off-track, the tracks end up with a lower percentage . However, all of that aside, internet wagering is continuing to grow by leaps and bounds, and there are apt to be more novice bettors playing the ponies through the web than there are novices attending the race tracks. Many bettors new to track betting don’t realize that a player needs to at least know something of the basics of betting on a horse and the reason that particular animal was chosen as a would-be winner.

To begin with, there are two types of horse racing competition. There is harness racing in which a driver rides a two-wheel cart and is pulled by a “trotter”, a horse specially bred and trained for this form of racing. Then there is thoroughbred racing in which a jockey sits astride a saddled racehorse.

There are various ways to bet on a horse race, and would-be handicappers must familiarize themselves with all of them:

Win – Place – Show : Win is to bet on which horse will win the race, and pays higher than place or show. Place is to bet that a horse will place first or second, and pays less than Win. Show is betting that a chosen horse will finish in third place or higher and pays less than Win or Place.

Perfecta: Two winners must be chosen and must finish in the exact order as wagered.

Quinella: Similar to the Perfecta, but winners can finish in any order.

Trifecta: Bettor must choose the first three winners of a race in the exact order as wagered.

Daily Double: A track wager in which the bettor must select the winners in two consecutive races. Usually the first two races of the day.

Pick Three: The bettor must pick the winner in each of three consecutive races.

Interactive race wagering was introduced in the U.S. in 1991, when Television Games Network  introduced a television racing network available through cable and satellite programming services.

Horseracing Today was of a good start.

We have started our live trading session using the HiPro86 Horse Betting Software Robot and we got off a real good start. The Horseracing Today was on our side and we ended the first day with a nice +3.89% in net profits = +9,71 EUR.
We started our account with 249.71 EUR today (25-08-2010). You can see I had deposited 250,00 EUR into the new created Betfair account on 11-08-2010. I had to test the horse betting software and did some adjustments which brought the account slightly down. But that is alright and our starting betting bank will be 249,71 EUR on Horseracing Today.

We used the following settings on the HiPro86 Horse Betting Software for the coming session and used it on the Horseracing Today.

The Master System Settings we use will be a little different to what the Info Panel of the software application is offering. We try to use a little more secured settings, knowing though that this is still betting and profits cannot be guaranteed. However, we can minimize risk and at the same time achieving some nice profits on Horseracing Today. The stakes my look low, but the profits can add up nicely because there will be a good number of matched bets using the Master System.

Master System Settings

Just 0,33 EUR being the stake? Yes, we use just 0,33 EUR being the stake! Since we use the max odds to be 19.0 on Betfair we can await a number of matched bets.

And that exactly happened in the Horseracing Today. We had 15 bets out of which 14 were winning bets and 1 losing bets. That is really good….

Range Master uses the same selections as the Master System does. However, Range Master uses those selections which trade higher than the odds of 40 on Betfair. We follow the recommendation and use the same settings as shown inside the Info Panel of the software.

Start odds to be 40 and End odds to be 250. Since we limit our risk with each possible selection to not lose more than 50 EUR we know that the stakes will be low as well. But since the strike rate goes as high as 98%, means we will win 98% of all matched bets, we think risking 20% of our total bank should be “ok”.

On the Horseracing Today we achieved a profit of 2,16 EUR made from 3 winning bets. Knowing that we risk 50 EUR per each matched bet, it means that we got a profit of +4.32%

Using this settings would mean we get about 1 to 3 matched bets each day. On Horseracing Today it had been 3 matched bets.

Range Master Settings

Favourite Kill System uses selections which are of lower odds. The settings show that we take odds of up to maximum 9.00 on Betfair.

We use small stakes again. With the settings using 9.00 on Betfair and trying to recover losses within the next 2 matched bets, we are risking 13.20 EUR in case we will be matched with the odds of 9.0 on two consecutive bets and losing them both on Horseracing Today. This can happen, because mostly we place the bet with Favourite Kill against the Favourite Horse as what the System name already announces.

Well, the Horseracing Today gave us a fantastic result on our first trading day. 9 winning bets and 1 losing bet. All this on low odds. A tremendous profit of 3,63 EUR which represents +27.5% based on the risk we are taking.
